Apex Sports Therapy was founded by Rob Firth in 2013, upon completion of his studies at Leeds Met University towards a BSc degree in Sports and Exercise Therapy. Since then, Apex Sports Therapy has continued to grow and now has a diverse range of clients with varying ages and sporting ability.
Rob is now in his third season of providing sports massage for Elite Level Football Match Officials, at Premier League, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and England International Friendly matches. Rob excelled in his first season in 2015 while working with the referees which resulted in him being invited to join the Sports Massage Team who provide their services at PGMOL Training Camps at St Georges Park - The F.A’s National Football Centre, as well as continuing as a Sports Masseur on Premier League and Champions League matchdays.
Rob also works for Stevenage FC, as part of the team of Academy Sports Therapists. This role requires both clinic work at training and pitchside medical support at Academy matches.
Since 2013, Rob has been a key member of a small team of Sport Therapists who provide their services at Civil Service National Sport Events on a number of occasions throughout the year. The highlight of this was when Rob was asked to attend the 2015 Lewis Cup Final at Fleetwood Town FC’s impressive Highbury Stadium, as a Sports Therapist.
Apex Sports Therapy has always been very keen to establish positive links with local sports clubs. Currently, Rob is providing his expertise at Chinnor FC, putting his St Johns Ambulance Sport First Aid qualification to good use at training sessions and at matches.
On several occasions since graduating, Rob has volunteered his services at local 10k races, offering pre and post-race massages, asking only for donations to the cause that the event was in aid of.
